Do you turn maps around when following directions?
We are so used to seeing the world map with Northern Hemisphere at the top, so this map is messing with our heads and challenging our sense of perception.
Not only is it from the perspective of the Southern Hemisphere but it is also Pacific-centred so Australia and New Zealand are on top and in the centre.
We’ve been watching people looking at this map, turning it upside down (the right way up?) and around again.
Even the compass is upside down.
