So today is summer solstice, the longest day of the year. That means we get extra time to appreciate all the rain.
We took a little break from the rain and reminded ourselves what summer should look like with this panoramic map of the Alps in the summer.

This long map has been hand-drawn to present the mountains, valleys, lakes, etc in a 3-D effect. Viewed from the north towards the south, the panorama is centred between Lake Constance and Lake Como, and has Vienna, Munich, Basel and Dijon in the foreground, with in the background the Po Valley, the Adriatic and the spine of the Apennines. Coverage from east to west extends from Vienna to beyond the Rhône Valley.
