Wish We Were

… visiting Casa Azul, the home of Frida Kahlo in Mexico City.

Frida Kahlo

As July is both the birth and death month of Frida Kahlo’s, we thought it fitting to give up our last WWW of July to the adored Mexican artist.

Casa Azul (Blue House) is the home she grew up in and later shared with her husband, the artist Diego Rivera. It has been made into a museum celebrating Frida’s life and work. It pays homage to Mexican folk art and contains her personal belongings that have been kept in pristine condition.

Casa Azul (aka Museo Frida Kahlo)  is in Coyoacán, a beautiful colonial district of Mexico City. Away from busy main roads, most of the streets are quiet, residential, and have special bike lanes.
