Wow, it’s hot out there. Hope you are managing to keep your cool. There’s been more than just a heat wave going on this week. Here is this week’s Travel News:

Santa Convention hits Copenhagen

As we experience the one and only hot week in July, spare a thought for these guys wearing full Santa outfits. The 59th World Santa Claus Convention saw Santas from all over the world convene for a giant festive catch up. At least they started the day cooling off with a dip at Bellevue Beach as is tradition.

47th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing

On Wednesday it was 47 years since Neil Armstrong uttered those famous words; “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

21 new Unesco World Heritage sites announced

If you are collecting Unesco Heritage Sites on your bucket list, now you have an extra 21 to tick off. The new sites include; Khangchendzonga National Park in India, The Persian Qanat in Iran and Gorham’s Cave Complex in Gibraltar.

Mexico wins Homeless World Cup

It’s been quite a sporting summer and to add to it, last week,  Mexico were crowned double Homeless World Cup champions for the 2nd time following their wins in Glasgow. Mexico’s men and women teams defeated 49 other nations and lifted trophies. The Homeless World Cup is now in its 14th year.

Man walks around the world with his adopted puppy
