Launched in 2015, the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards (ESTWA) seek to celebrate the best travel writing, and travel writers, in the world.
Titles have been shortlisted for the Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year in association with the Authors’ Club for their innovative and/or literary merit with content which is relevant, useful or inspiring to travellers.
The 2021 Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year in association with the Authors’ Club:
This shortlist of eight books, will take you on a fascinating journey across the globe; following a famous adventurer’s footsteps to Dolpo (a remote Himalayan region), along the seemingly endless Russian border, walking around Kabul, travelling around the world from the perspective of a Black woman, delving into mystical Britain, exploring Siberia’s musical past, following the Amber Route from the Baltic to the Mediterranean, on the lookout for one of nature’s rarest birds in Primorye (Far Eastern region of Russia).
