This winter come along to the Royal Geographical Society and hear the experts with the Society’s spring programme of events. With a wide range of talks and exhibitions at venues across the UK, there is something for everyone with an interest in geography.
The full programme of events is now available online and includes the Monday night lecture series for members. Highlights in the season feature Levison Wood on why people explore, Ben Saunders on his experiences of crossing Antarctica and Markus Bell on the myths of North Korea. City lectures include Professor Matthew Goodwin on Brexit causes and consequences, while Society President Nick Crane features at the Society’s Public events.
And there’s plenty going on outside the capital. Leon McCarron is on the road for the Society’s Regional Theatres Programme, speaking in Stamford, Darlington and Southampton about his experience walking through the heart of the Middle East from Jerusalem to Mount Sinai. While Harriet Dedman, producer, photographer and film maker will be heading to north Devon to discuss her upcoming documentary On the ground – filming the refugee crisis. And if you’re a keen traveller yourself, Matt Burke will be in Kendal sharing the secrets of making great travel films.
So why not join the Society now and gain access to the Monday night lecture series for members as well as discounts on tickets for public events? Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) membership is open to all and members also receive a 10% discount on all Stanfords items.
