Origami birds draw attention to at risk World Heritage site

The WWF are encouraging people to make origami birds and share them on social media in a bid to stop the river dredging plans in Doñana National Park in Spain. Millions of birds rely on the park’s vast wetlands during their migration. Share your origami creation using #OrigamiMigration.

Whitby Abbey illuminates for Halloween

Visitors have been exploring the gothic abbey that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula as it celebrates the yearly illuminations. With live performances, spectacular light displays and costumed characters telling dark tales. The 13th Century ruins of Whitby Abbey attracts many tourists to North Yorkshire.

MoMA exhibits emojis

New York’s Museum of Modern Art has added a piece displaying a set of 176 emojis. Created in 1999 by a Japanese developer, the piece is a perfect example of MoMA’s mission to display the most modern and contemporary art.
