Ordnance Survey celebrates their 225th anniversary

This week we have been wishing happy 225th birthday to Ordnance Survey. That should warrant a massive map cake. It’s not the first important date the OS have celebrated in 2016 as earlier this year they celebrated 80 years of the Trig Pillar.

Ikea Museum to open

On the 30th of June a museum dedicated to everyone’s favourite Scandinavian flat-pack furniture opens in Älmhult, Sweden in what was the first ever Ikea store. Displays of furniture from catalogue pages through the decades will be on view.

Google Earth show suspected sea monster

An unidentified shape measuring approximately 30 metres has been spotted near Antarctica leading people to speculate that there may be some kind of sea monster lurking in the area. A kraken seems to be the number one suspect although there have been claims that the Loch Ness Monster may have got a bit lost.
