An octopus from New Zealand’s National Aquarium has made a dash for freedom by escaping from his tank and exiting down a drain leading to the sea.

Ah, the ‘selfie’, a word of our epoch. The council in Porthcawl, Wales claim to have installed the first selfie bench. This genius attempt to style out the misplacing of a couple of benches that should face the sea but instead face the road is sure to catch on.

1,500 year-old Adidas wearing mummy

A 1,500 year-old mummy has been discovered up in Mongolia’s Altai Mountains wearing what appears to be a pair of Adidas trainers. The well crafted footwear features a design that resembles the brand’s three stripe emblem. Time travel conspiracies have ensued all over the internet, either way she was certainly ahead of her time.

Japan’s invisible train

The Japanese rail company the Seibu Group has commissioned the architect Kazuyo Sejima to design a new state of the art train for its 100th anniversary. The idea pitched is for a mirror covered vehicle that will blend in with the surrounding landscape. This bullet train will not be unlike the invisible Aston Martin from the James Bond Film Die Another Day.
